Kuopio Punk Film Festival is a new kind of punk-inspired film festival that brings alternative culture into the spotlight. Taking place in November 13.-14, 2026, the event will test a new festival concept in Finland, with the goal of establishing an annual international film festival in Kuopio.
The festival programme features short films, music videos, and films for children and young people that showcase bold expression, social perspectives, or a DIY spirit. The festival is for anyone interested in alternative filmmaking, the spirit of punk, and a rebellious approach to culture.

Kuopio Punk Film Festival is an independent film and music festival focused on punk-inspired, anarchic and DIY-driven expression. The festival programme centres on short-form cinema, including short films, short documentaries, experimental works and music videos. Short-form cinema is at the heart of the festival: direct, concise and uncompromising.
The programme also features music videos where image, sound and attitude come together as an inseparable whole. Feature-length films may be included on a case-by-case basis, where there is a compelling reason to do so.
The event takes place at two legendary cultural venues in Kuopio, featuring both selected film screenings and a range of accompanying events. Sawohouse Underground serves as the hub for live music, while Maxim is the festival's main venue for film screenings.
